An American songwriter and singer, born in Jacksonville, Texas. She studied piano and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1984. After graduation, she joined a college in Texas, where she became a member of the college band, Country Caravan. After a year, she left college and joined Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she studied the commercial side of the music business and interned at the A&R department at MCA Records. Her albums include "I Hope You Dance" and "Call Me Crazy".
