He began his acting career on stage with a touring troupe across Australia, and in 1912, he emigrated to the United States, where he was a member of a touring theater company. In the early twenties, he appeared on Broadway, then started working in supporting roles in silent films. His works include Bombay Mail (1934), California Straight Ahead! (1937), and The Girl from Mandalay (1936). He died in Los Angeles, California, USA on December 4, 1951.
