An American character actor born in New York, USA as Frank Campanella. He played evil frowning characters, such as Indian chiefs and Mexican army officers, but before acting he was a school teacher, after which he left and played Shakespearean characters at the local theater, before working on Broadway, then he went to Hollywood in 1947. Among his notable works are Atlantis: The Lost Continent (1961), The Ten Commandments (1956) and The Mechanic (1972). He died of heart failure in Sepulveda, California, USA on October 15, 1981, at age 71.
