An American actor and director, born in Sioux City, Iowa, USA as Gerald Patrick Mathers. He got married three times and had three children. He began his career at the age of two as a child model, and soon after starred in a dairy commercial, then worked in films at the age of five. He studied at Notre Dame High School, then studied at the University of California, Berkeley. He served in the US Air Force National Guard during the Vietnam War. In the 1970s, he worked in banking and real estate. Among his notable works are The Love Boat (1977), That Certain Feeling (1956) and The Trouble with Harry (1955).
