An American actor, born as Ernest Stephens Dumarais in San Francisco, California, USA, on June 18, 1885. Adams was married four times and had one child. Among his notable works are The Pride of the Yankees (1942), The Man with Nine Lives (1940) and Invisible Ghost (1941). He worked in comedy and musical theater on Broadway, and presented a large number of silent films before working profusely in sound cinema, presenting a large number of Westerns, and playing all kinds of shady characters. He died of lung disease in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on November 26, 1947, at age 62.
