He was an English actor, born in London, UK. He launched his acting career in the silent film era. He moved to the USA, where he starred on Broadway in the musical Orange Blossoms in 1922. He played additional and supporting roles in the films during the 1920s and 1930s. He appeared in nine of John Ford Stock Company's films. He is known for Death in the Air (1936), Guilty or Not Guilty (1932), and One of the Bravest (1925). He married many times, including the actresses Edith Day and Margaret Bannerman. He died on April 20, 1974, in California, USA.
