She is an Indian actress, singer, and writer. She attended Cluny Convent High School in Bangalore and later Mount Carmel College, where she got a degree in economics, statistics, and math. She trained in Hindustani classical music. Her notable works include Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Monsoon Wedding (2001), and Hey Ram (2000).
