Turkish film director and producer born in Istanbul, Turkey. She was an assistant director and director in various theaters in San Diego, Washington, New York, and Los Angeles. She turned to cinema and worked as a director, producer and writer in several films, winning awards at international festivals for her short films. After graduating from Roberts High School in Istanbul, she went to the United States to study directing and writing. She graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University, Department of Theater. Founded theatrical troupe "Platform". She completed a three-year MA in Filmmaking at the University of Southern California in 1996. She's known for The Protector, and Voices Unveiled: Turkish Women Who Dare.
