An American former professional baseball starting pitcher, born on April 11, 1964, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, USA, as Bret William Saberhagen. He was a member of the 1984 American League Western Division Champion Kansas City Royals team, which was also the 1985 World Series Champion. He attended Grover Cleveland Charter High School in Reseda, California. He won the American League Cy Young Award in 1985 and 1989. He married Kandace DeAngelo. His credits include The Open Road (2009).
