In 1951, he appeared for the first time on Broadway in the play Romeo and Juliet, in front...Read more of Olivia de Havilland, and received the World Theatre Award, and in 1952 he was accepted at the Actors Studio. He performed in many plays on and off Broadway, and received many awards and honors. His first television appearance was in the television series The Guiding Light (1952), and his first cinematic appearance was in the movie Hamlet (1953), after which he made a few films, most notably Attack (1956), and Deathsport (1978). He continued to perform on television until his last role in Walker, Texas Ranger (1994).
