An American actor, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, on May 16, 1931, as John Smeaton Dodson. Jack married art director Mary Dodson (1959-1994). They had two children, and she remained with him until his death. Among his most notable works are The Getaway (1972), American Playhouse (1984), and Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973). He began his career in Broadway theaters in New York before heading to Hollywood. He worked in cinema and television. Jack Dodson died at the age of 63 in Los Angeles, California, USA, on September 16, 1994, of heart failure.
