An American actress, born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on June 25, 1925, and died in Rancho Mirage, California, on September 19, 2002. Among the most important works of Virginia Wells are Kiss and Tell (1945), Dear Ruth (1947), and Joe Palooka in the Big Fight (1949). Virginia Welles had prominent roles primarily at Paramount, where she was contracted until late forties. She was offered a screen test while she was in high school, but she preferred to finish high school and attend Stephens College in Missouri, after which she went to Hollywood and got a role in the movie Kiss and Tell (1945), signed a contract with Paramount, made several films in the remainder of the 1940s, left Paramount in 1949 and worked as a freelancer for several years, before retiring from cinema in 1951, but she presented her final movie Francis in the Haunted House in 1956, as well as a few television appearances.
