An American actor, born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 6, 1917, and died in London, England, on February 8, 1973. Among his most important works are Baghdad (1949), Patton (1970), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), and Road Movie (1973). David Bauer left his homeland after being blacklisted during the McCarthy era and settled mainly in Britain. He was chosen as the best promising actor at the University of Washington, and his career began immediately after his graduation, as he made many plays. He made his film debut in The Vicious Circle (1948). After settling in Britain, he gained fame by appearing on British television, where he participated in many series, such as Top Secret (1961). He also worked in theater productions as an actor and director and participated in British films, such as You Only Live Twice (1967). His last work was the series Bless This House (1973).
