A British-American actor, comedian, and television game show host. He served in the Royal Merchant Navy for three years, earning money from boxing. In the late 1950s, he met British actress Diana Dors, and they had three children. They divorced in 1966. He moved to the United States and worked as a waiter. He began his acting career in film and television, appearing on game shows, and became a naturalized American citizen in 1984. Richard died in Los Angeles, California, USA, from complications of esophageal cancer at the age of 79.
