An American actor, born on October 1, 1903, in Maui, Hawaii, USA. He is of Chinese origin. He was one of the best-known Asian character actors in American films of the 1930s and 1940s. After the stock market crash of 1929, he decided to become an actor. He joined amateur theater groups, then professional ones, and in 1931, he made his first movie. He is known for The Steel Helmet (1951), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), and The Quiet American (1958). He married twice and had two children. He died at the age of 80 on November 20, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, USA, from a cerebral hemorrhage.
