An American actress, born on July 25, 1897, in Birmingham, Michigan, United States. In 1938, Helen moved with her parents and daughter to Southern California. She served as a writer and director at the Theatre Americana of Altadena. She also worked as a writing coach for 30 years. Later on, Helen got stage acting roles at the Theatre Americana and the Glendale Centre Theatre. Shaw became a professional actress at the age of 82, playing her first notable role in the TV movie Rape and Marriage: The Rideout Case (1980), which was followed by several additional film and TV appearances. She is best known for Parenthood (1989), Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), and Wicked Stepmother (1989). She died on September 8, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, United States.
