Canadian actor and director, born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada on July 5, 1883 as George Delbert Henderson. He married actress and writer Florence Lee (1909-1956), and she remained with him until his death. His important works are The Servant Question (1920), The Dead Line (1920), and Outcast (1917). He began his prolific career in the early days of silent films and worked on theater before directing American films from 1913 through 1927, after which he resumed acting. His last film appearance was in Louisa (1950) and then retired. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA on December 2, 1956 of a heart attack.
