A British actor and writer, born on May 24, 1926, in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. Baxter was educated at Hillhead High School. He was previously married to Moira Robertson. During World War II, he served in the British Army Entertainment Unit in Singapore. His works include Crooks Anonymous (1962), The Fast Lady (1962), and The Stanley Baxter Moving Picture Show (1974).
