A British actor born in England, on January 20, 1922. He married the actress Audrey Nicholson (1959-2013), they had three children and she remained with him until his death. He is an English comedian, actor, writer, director and producer. He attended Wallace Grammar School. He appeared on stage Mummering theater at the Lyceum Theater in London at the age of 13. He studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art RADA. He was recruited during the World War ll and met in the army with actor Peter Sellers, and they became a lifetime friendship. He worked on the radio of BBC. His most important works are: The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976), Superman lll (1983), The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), and A Shot in the Dark (1964). He died in 2013 at the age of 90.
