An American actress who was born in Tampa, Florida, USA. She was married to director and producer Edwin L. Marin (1940-1951), and they had 3 children. Her most important works include The Women (1939), Third Finger, Left Hand (1940), Gang Busters (1952), and Guns Don't Argue (1957). She played supporting roles at MGM in the 1930s and 1940s. She began her career on stage in Florida. She was discovered and brought to California, beginning her film career with the movie Spring Madness (1936) as a supporting character. She went on to play the roles of mothers, wives, maids, best friends, neighbors, secretary, nurse, and saleswoman. She became a familiar face on TV, appearing in many comedy series as a guest. After her retirement, she worked as a successful real estate agent and became a benefactor of numerous schools, libraries, and museums. She taught theater acting at the Pasadena Playhouse. Her last work was One Foot in Hell (1960). She died in Bellevue, Washington, USA on June 30, 1994.
