An American actress who was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA as Eva Elizabeth McVeagh. She married four husbands and had four children. Her most important works include Mathnet (1987), Glass Houses (1972), The Twilight Zone (1962-1964), and High Noon (1952). She worked in theater, film, television, and radio. She was the daughter of a railroad clerk, and she began her theater work as a teenager in Los Angeles. She provided leading and supporting roles. After her theatrical success in Hollywood, she moved to New York, where she worked on Broadway and on the radio. She began her screen work on television in 1948. Her first movie was High Noon (1952) and her last one was Creator (1985), while her last TV series was Ohara (1988). She died in Los Angeles, California, USA on December 10, 1997.
