A British actor born in London, on December 10, 1912. He married Joan Cowderoy in 1943, and after their divorce, he married Cordelia Mary Vashti Saleeby in 1952. He began acting at the age of 16 and worked for a mobile theater company, performing Bernard Shaw plays since the late 1920s. Until 1938, when he joined the Birmingham Company, and his career was interrupted due to his recruitment in the intelligence corps of the Royal Army, during World War II. After his discharge from the army, he had a popular role as a comedian. Among his most important works are: Town on Trial (1957), Passport to Pimlico (1949), Comedy Playhouse (1963-1974), and Fair Game (1958). He died in 1987 at the age of 73.
