He was an English stage, film, and television actor, often playing senior military officers or clergymen. He was educated at Fairfield Grammar School and St. Simon Parish School, trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and worked at the Cambridge Arts Theatre. He was a leading stage actor with Laurence Olivier's National Theatre Company in the 1960s. Robert Lang died in Sutton, Surrey, England, United Kingdom, of cancer at the age of 70.
