American actor of Chinese descent, born in Los Angeles, California, the USA on March 28, 1892, as Spencer Edward Chan. Among his works are The Sea Hound (1947), Across the Pacific (1942), and Timber Fury (1950). He had a long career in film and television. His father was a pastor and court translator. He studied at the University of Southern California and worked as a translator and casting agent for Chinese actors. He played the roles of Asian workers, party guests, casino goers, and others. He died in Los Angeles, California, on January 9, 1988.
