American actor born in Bethany City, Missouri, US on 2 July 1899. His onscreen debut was on One Heavenly Night (1930). His most notable works include Adventures of Superman (1953) and Gunsmoke (1961-1967). His last appearance was on Death Valley Days (1953-1968). He then retired until he died on 23 May 1985 in Los Angeles, California.
