British actor, born in Wales, on December 31, 1897. He was married to Elizabeth Irene Elsie Dvorak, and had three children. Among his most famous works are: How Green Was My Valley in 1941, The Strange Woman in 1946, The Black Arrow in 1948, and The Inspector General in 1949. He died in Santa Monica, California, on May 28, 1969 at the age of 72.
