A German writer, born in Hanover, Germany. He grew up in Kassel, Germany. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a newspaper editor and reporter, and published many articles and stories in local newspapers and magazines. At the beginning of World War II, he was conscripted into the German Armed Forces and was responsible for propaganda, newspaper reports and radio broadcasts. Since 1950 he worked mainly as a screenwriter. He also wrote crime novels, radio plays, stories, and satirical writings. He lived for a while in Switzerland and Italy. His credits include The Devil Strikes at Night (1957), The Plot to Assassinate Hitler (1955) and The Tiger of Eschnapur (1959). He died on May 10, 1986.
