An American film and theater actor, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He began his activity on stage playing rural Americans. In cinema, he began in the silent era, and joined talkies. He played minor roles such as judges, governors, and doctors. He was married twice and had no children. Among his notable works are The Fighting Blade (1923), The Big Trail (1930) and Love Birds (1934). He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 23, 1957, at age 86.
