• A British actor, born in St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Island, United Kingdom, as Barry Cuthbert Jones. He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1962. His most important...Read more works include Prince Valiant (1954), Brigadoon (1954), and Demetrius and the Gladiators (1954). He was a theater, film, and television actor, who worked in Britain and America, beginning on stage in 1921 and in cinema in 1932, often performing the roles of noblemen. His partner was actor and writer Maurice Colbourne. He was educated at Elizabeth College in Guernsey, and at the age of seven, he tried to join a touring Shakespearean troupe. He got his first job in a steam navigation company. He served during World War I in 1914 in the Irish Army and was wounded in 1916, but he remained in service until 1921. Barry Jones' first film was Women Who Play (1932) and his last work was The Heroes of Telemark (1965). He died in Guernsey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom on May 1, 1981.
