A British actor, born in Lisbon, Portugal. His notable works include Arabesque (1966), The Quatermass Experiment (1953), Quentin Durward (1955), and Quatermass and the Pit (1967). He married actress Patricia Driscoll and they had two children. He died of a heart attack on 19 December 1978 in Kent, England, UK.
