French actor born in Paris, France on October 15, 1930 as Philippe Marie Paul Leroy-Beaulieu. He was a captain in the army before becoming an actor. He fought in the First Indochina War and the Algerian War and retired as a captain in 1960. He worked extensively in Italian cinema. He won the Salerno International Film Festival Award for Best Actor in 1989. He was married three times and got three children. His important works include Nikita (1990), Treasure Island in Outer Space (1987), and The Night Porter (1974).
