An English actor born in Paddington, London, UK. At the outbreak of World War II in 1939, he served in the Royal Air Force, and after the war he continued his work in cinema and television. His onscreen debut was on The Man Behind the Mask (1936) and his last was The Yellow Hat (1966), after which he retired to focus on his business of restoring antique furniture. His other notable works include several of the Carry On films, A Night to Remember (1958), and Hell Below Zero (1954). He married 3 times and had one child. He died on 30 April 1974 in Builth Wells, Wales, UK.
