An English set decorator, art director, and actor born in London, England, UK. He has been nominated for several awards including an Academy Award, an Emmy and an ACCA and won an Academy Award in 1993 for Best Art Direction for Howard's End (1992). His other notable works include The Remains of the Day (1993), Sense & Sensibility (1995), and Alien (1979).
