He was a German actor and writer, born on December 14, 1884, in Lübeck, Germany, now it is Schleswig-Holstein. He studied pharmacy at the University of Munich. Erich Ponto is known for The Third Man (1949), Sky Without Stars (1955), and Schneider Wibbel (1939). He died at the age of 72 after a long cancer illness, on February 4, 1957 in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
