American professional boxer, born on May 13, 1914, in Lafayette, Alabama, USA. He was a Heavyweight Boxing Champion from 1937 to 1949. He was considered one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, competing from 1934 to 1951. He was victorious in 25 consecutive title defenses. He died on April 12, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
