American actor born in Sandusky, Ohio, US on 17 January 1898. He was a silent film actor, where he appeared in supporting roles, and when talking emerged he began acting more. He worked a lot from the 1930s through the 1950s. His debut was on Big Town Ideas (1921), his other notable works include The Turmoil (1924) and The Idle Rich (1929). His last appearance was on Never a Dull Moment (1968). He married actress Pauline Paquette from 1955 until his death on 26 November 1972 in Los Angeles, California.
