Moroccan director, cinematographer and editor, born in Oujda in 1936. He obtained his baccalaureate degree in 1956, specializing in modern literature. Before heading to Paris, he joined the Higher Institute of Film Studies, from which he graduated in 1959. He also held a number of positions on Moroccan radio and television, and was elected between 1978 and 1995 as president of the Moroccan Chamber of Film Producers. Then he was elected in 1988 as head of the committee to support Moroccan film production, where he held this position until 1993. He also established two production companies, "Artistic and Technical Films", and then "Afaq Film". Among his works is the movie Risos: Blood of the Other. He died in Germany in 2011.
