A British actress who holds Australian citizenship. She was born in Wales, United Kingdom, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1921 when she was eleven years old and her father worked in an artistic production company. Mavis and her brother Cecil began their artistic career during the silent film era. Her credits include Saloon Bar (1940) and Suddenly, Last Summer (1959). She died in Lindt, England.
