English actor, born in London, on May 26, 1903. He made his debut with The Crooked Billet (1929), while his last appearance was in the TV series My Partner the Ghost (1969). Among his important works are: The Ladykillers (1955), Wideawake (1957), The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958), and The Old Dark House (1963). He died in 1973, at the age of 70.
