His career was successful as a stage magician, and he resided in France, performing in nightclubs in Paris and Monte Carlo as well as in Palm Springs, Hollywood and Los Angeles. Forrest was educated at the Imperial Service College in Windsor. He had a passion for painting. He made his film debut in Great Expectations (1946) and also worked in the Aldwych Theatre with Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. He also participated in many TV shows. His last work was The Bawdy Adventures of Tom Jones (1976). He died in London, England, United Kingdom on March 28, 2012.
