American actor born William Harold Riddle in Fulton, Kentucky, US on 11 December 1917. He graduated from Murray State University and worked in summer theater in Pennsylvania, where he became a lifelong friend with Jack Lemmon. He made his film debut in 1958. His notable works include The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1975-1976), Johnny Dangerously (1984), and Days of Our Lives (1970-1975). He died on 17 June 2009 in Los Angeles, California, US.
