Farouk Ohan was born in Mosul in 1943 and completed his studies there. In 1963, he graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Department of Theater in Baghdad and was assigned to Baghdad TV, where he founded the "School Theater" program. In the same year, he founded with director Jaafar Ali, the theater group Today, one of the active theater groups in the history of the Iraqi theatrical movement, and he participated in directing and representing most of the plays presented by this group. He is famous for the series The Excavator.
