American actress and singer born in Houston, Texas, US on 30 May 1944. She received a BA in English literature from UCLA. She made her onscreen debut in 1953. Her most notable works include The Rockford Files (1977), Bikini Beach (1964), and Magnum P.I. (1986). She was married 3 times and had one daughter. She died of brain tumor complications on 14 July 2000 in Manhattan Beach, California, US.
