American actor, born in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States of America, on October 19, 1882, as Samuel A. Ethridge. He was a prolific American actor in television, film, and theater, who played the roles of judge, lawyer, military officer, businessman, and others. He was married to Ella Ethridge, who remained with him until his death. Among his notable works are A Face in the Fog (1936), Junior Prom (1946), and The Crimson Ghost (1946). He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 17, 1980, at the age of 97.
