An American radio and television personality, comedian, game show host, and actor, born in Manhattan, New York, USA, on April 5, 1921, as Robert Lewis Goldberg. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. He is known for An Affair to Remember (1957), Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex*But Were Afraid to Ask (1972) and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1967). He first appeared on the radio in 1931 as a child actor and singer. He enrolled at the University of Michigan in 1938. In 1942, he got called to the U.S. Army during the Second World War and became a radio operator in the Signal Corps. After the war, he became a radio announcer. In 1950, he joined television as a broadcaster, actor, and singer. He also became famous for hosting game shows in the fifties and sixties. Robert starred in road-company versions of Broadway plays. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on December 11, 1991, of emphysema, at the age of 70.
