British actor born in Brighton, Sussex, England, United Kingdom on October 6, 1922 as Alfred George Cyril Michael Nightingale. In 1956, he married Violet J. Coleman, and they got a child. His notable works include The Avengers (1967-1968), Carry on Dick (1974), and The Return of the Pink Panther (1975). He appeared in 13 films of the Carry On series. He died in London, England, on May 8, 1999, at the age of 76.
