British professional boxer and actor, who was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom on November 17, 1896 as John Tomasso. His notable works include Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Casino Royale (1967), and From Russia with Love (1963). After his retirement from boxing, he became a boxing referee and an actor and appeared in many movies and TV series. He died in 1979, at the age of 82.
