Canadian actor to Jewish parents of Russian immigrants, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on January 31, 1913, with the name Morituri Levine. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on September 21, 2002. He was married to Mary Isabella Pugliano (1954-1979) and they had one child before their divorce. Among his works are The Girl in the Kremlin (1957), Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1959), and Matinee Theater (1857). He appeared in many theatrical and film productions on Broadway, in addition to numerous television appearances in a career that spanned more than three decades. He served in World War I by working as an army medical photographer in Europe. He began theatrical work in New York City, working on and off Broadway throughout the thirties and forties, and moved to Hollywood in the late forties and worked in film and television.
