Creighton Hale was born in Cork, Ireland on May 24, 1889 as Patrick Fitzgerald. He received a s Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. He married Victoire Lowe (1912-1926), and they had two children, after which he divorced and married Kathleen Bering. His most important roles are in The Circle (1925), The Cat and the Canary (1927), and Riley of the Rainbow Division (1928). Creighton worked in theater, film, and television for more than half a century. He studied in Dublin and London, then studied at Ardingley College in Sussex. He moved to America in 1910, worked at the Hartford Theater, and Indiana Police, and ended up in Broadway theaters. He debuted in Exploits of Elaine (1914). He played roles in silent cinema during the twenties and also had roles in the talkies. Creighton Hale made his last movie, Westbound (1958), and retired until his death in 1965 at the age of 83.
