English actor, born on March 7, 1925 in Berkshire, England. His daughter is actress Sarah Vernon. He got married to actress Benedicta Leigh in 1955, and they got divorced in 1990. After his wartime service, he decided to pursue an acting career and enrolled in the Central School of Speech and Drama in 1948. Among his works are Night Train to Murder (1984), and Roll Over Beethoven (1985). He died on December 4, 1997 in Richmond, London.
